Hey there, Sam here! I’m sure many of you don’t know me and those that do will probably giggle while reading this because unfortunately I am so awkward when talking, or in this instance writing, about myself. I will be honest with you and say that I probably spent over 5 hours trying to figure out what to say in this introduction of myself. It's scary to put yourself out there and share with the world. I typed, erased, retyped, over and over again. I wondered what to share? What not to share? What would people even care to read about me?

So I’ll give you a concise rundown, I like to get to the point! I am a middle school teacher and I wouldn’t change it for the world. I have been married for almost two years to my husband Skyler. We met while in college and I never thought it would lead me on an adventure of a lifetime, but boy it sure has! I live in the Nashville area and although I was hesitant moving to a larger city, I am really growing to love it here! My pride and joy is my sweet puppy dog, Oliver. He is an Australian shepherd/ Border collie mix. He’s a rescue but he definitely rescued me (yeah I’m cheesy). But really I’m obsessed with him. I love crocheting, knitting, reading, drinking gallons of coffee, spending time outdoors, and right now working in my garden and composting!

Earlier I told you I spent many, many hours trying to write this post. Part of that is my horrible procrastination and part is that I was lacking inspiration. I am by no means a prolific writer. I couldn’t even come up with a title other than “Introduction” but I know that wasn’t going to suck you in and make you want to read, and that’s like the first rule of writing. If you have made it this far, welcome! I think the whole point of this blog is to be honest with you, share our struggles, and encourage you in faith. My Christian walk is a bit of a mess. I will be the first to tell you, I am not the best Christian. Yes, you read that correctly “I am not the best Christian". I have been to countless churches, several denominations, and I do not have it all together. I am learning each and every day and working on my relationship with Christ. I am not here to preach at you or guilt trip you or make you feel less than or to even say I know it all. I am here to show you that it’s okay to be a work in progress. It’s okay to be in the growing stages of your faith. It’s okay to just be starting.

I’m here to be real with you.

May the Lord bless you and keep you

-Samantha
